Spring is officially here, and that means Carolina blue skies, sunshine and lots of things to do in our great city! Before the weather gets too hot (you know what I’m talking about, hello humidity and 90 degrees…how are you already here?!), be sure to get out and enjoy what the Queen City has to offer.

The Charlotte area is home to lots of farms that you may not even know about, and spring is strawberry season – the perfect time to get out and pick some fresh berries as a family! And don’t forget about picking some peaches and blueberries too (seasons begin in late May/early June).

Interested in more fresh produce? Be sure to check out any of our fantastic local farmer’s markets and produce stands, including Matthews Community Farmers’ Market, open every Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and featuring an incredible number of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, herbs and much more. There’s also the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market which is open daily (except Mondays), year-round, and features a huge variety of produce for sale along with an entire barn devoted to crafts.

:: Destinations ::

– Baseball season is here! Be sure to cheer on the Charlotte Knights in their new stadium located in the center of the city.

– Now is a great time to visit the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens and see all of the gorgeous springtime blossoms. Be sure to visit the recently opened Lost Hollow Children’s Garden too – a great place for your kids to play and let their imaginations run wild.

– Don’t miss Biltmore Blooms at the Biltmore Estate now through the end of May.

– Be sure to check out all of the great playgrounds we have right here in the Queen City!

– Special events and exhibits are happening at all of the Discovery Place museums too.

:: Live Music ::

– Live music can be found every Friday and Saturday night all across the city, including in shopping centers like Stonecrest, Blakeney, and Promenade on Providence.

– The Charlotte Symphony Summer Pops series runs every Sunday in June in Symphony Park, with additional shows perform in various locations throughout the summer.
