Spring is officially here, and that means Carolina blue skies, sunshine and lots of things to do in our great city! Before the weather gets too hot (you know what I’m talking about, hello humidity and 90 degrees), be sure to get out and enjoy what the Queen City has to offer.

:: Family Fun on the Farm ::

The Charlotte area is home to lots of farms that you may not even know about, and spring is strawberry season – the perfect time to get out and pick some fresh berries as a family! And don’t forget about picking some peaches and blueberries too (seasons begin in late May/early June).

– Hall Family Farm (South Charlotte, strawberries) – One of our absolute favorite places in Charlotte, Hall Family Farm is an awesome place to go and play. Strawberries are available for picking right now, and there’s plenty of other things to do for fun, from a giant sandbox, slide, and shaded play area for the kids, to mazes, plenty of bikes/trikes/cozy coupes to run around with, and lots of yummy snacks (and funnel cake!) to enjoy

Wise Acres Organic Farm (Indian Trail, strawberries) – Another one of our favorite places to go, Wise Acres is a certified USDA Organic farm with LOTS of things to do, from hay rides and barrel train rides, to climbing, zipping or swinging in their wooded park, playing in the sandbox, meeting their animals, or just enjoying lots of yummy snacks and fresh produce. U-pick strawberries opens TODAY!

– Piedmont Produce General Store (Monroe, strawberries)

– Bush-N-Vine Farm (York, SC; strawberries, blueberries, peaches)

– Black’s Peaches and Bakery (York, SC; strawberries, peaches)

– The Peach Tree Orchards (York, SC; peaches)
