Our big guy’s birthday is just a little over a week away and we’re looking forward to celebrating with friends. In our search for neat spots to party, I found a few locations worth sharing. If you live in Central/South Charlotte, Matthews, or Fort Mill, here are a few locations to check out:

  1. Playgrounds – Last year we held his party at Squirrel Lake Park in Matthews in one of their shelters. Shelters are available for rental and can be reserved though Charlotte Parks and Recreation or through individual townships such as Matthews, Stallings, or Pineville. Prices usually range from $40-$100+. Reservations guarantee usages but if you just show up, you can also use the space for free.

Indoor Active Play

If you’re looking for places to run around and play with a reserved party room, here are some great places to get started. Many of these locations include paper products and some include food as well. Make sure to ask about promotions and coupons.

  1. Monkey Joes – Look for coupons. They provide a party room and help you to pass out food but you have to pay for the food.
  2. Superior Play – An indoor playground that includes trampolines and slides, swings and structures. Really a sales floor for outdoor playground equipment. You pay for the rental of the space and paper products.
  3. Chuck E Cheese – Classic arcade. Price includes tokens, reserved table, and food.
  4. Space Kidets – Inflatables in Matthews
  5. Baxter’s Bunch – Inflatables in Fort Mill
  6. Sky High (ages 3+) – Wall to wall trampolines with a kid’s area. Just note the age. Price includes food, drink, table, and paper products.
  7. Sports Connection – Laser tag, bowling, Inflatables, arcade, mini bowling. Multiple party packages.

Indoor Organized Play

Looking for art, music, or science themed parties? These locations are both fun and educational. Based on space limitations, these are better for smaller parties.

  1. Nature Center (ages 3+)
  2. Discovery Museum ( most are ages 3+)
  3. Noah’s Art
  4. Small Hands Big Art
  5. Dish it Out – Paint your own pottery
  6. Funky Town Parties

Indoor Organized Active Play

These locations are great for fun but organized play. An instructor will lead kids in games and then a room or space will be provided for food and cake.

  1. MyGym
  2. YMCA
  3. Gymboree
  4. Little Gym
  5. Southeastern Gymnastics (ages 4+)

At Home

Looking to have a party in your home but want to add something extra, check out groups that bring animals or activities to you. Horses and ponies (check our Pony parties by Janet), magicians, and other pet parties are very fun!

Have any great party locations to add to the list? Please share!
